Cross Keys pub lunch for Hopper passengers

Last week, on Thursday 5th November a group of regular Hopper passengers joined forces and took a private bus ride on Harold Hopper minibus to the Cross Keys pub in Gustard Wood. This arose from an initiative from passenger “Jigsaw” John from East Moor Park. John had the idea for passengers to get together for a spot of lunch in a nice country pub - and that’s what happened. Volunteer drivers, Judie Caunce and Richard Cooke helped organise the event and coordinated who was attending with our lovely group and between them, they drove the minibus and joined in with the lunch. From the photographs you can see that everyone was having a wonderful time. In fact several passengers couldn’t stop talking about it, saying how wonderful it was to get out and about and see some of the countryside and just different surroundings. They said how useful events such as this are in helping them to socialise more, overcome loneliness and to simply get out. The passengers all said they would like to do it again - so watch out for more outings in the future.
